The names of the streets and avenues of the City of Anthony shall be such as are shown by the plat of the city, and additions thereto, filed of record in the office of the register of deeds of Harper County, Kansas. Whenever any street or avenue shall be opened or laid out, which is a continuation of any street or avenue now laid out or opened, it shall bear the same name as the street or avenue, of which such street and avenue laid out or opened shall be a continuation. The opening of such street or avenue between any of those already opened shall not in any way change the name or names of those now established. In case of doubt or difference as to the name or names of any streets or avenues, reference may be had to the surveys and plats on file for the purpose of ascertaining the same.

All streets and avenues crossing Jennings Avenue or Main Street shall, in addition to the name they now bear, be further designated as follows:

(a)   Those running east and west by the prefix “East” or “West,” as they may be east or west of Jennings Avenue;

(b)   Those running north and south by the prefix “North” or “South,” as they may be north or south of Main Street.
